Privacy Policy

AskAnyModel lets you chat with many AI models from one account. This page explains what we collect while you do that, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. Who we are

AskAnyModel (“we”, “us”) operates the website and app at askanymodel.xyz. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@askanymodel.xyz.

2. What we collect

We only collect what the product needs to work. In practice that is:

Account details

  • Email address, name and password. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash, never in a readable form. If you sign in with GitHub we receive your GitHub name, email and avatar instead of a password.
  • Email verification and password-reset tokens, which expire shortly after they are sent.

What you send to the models

  • Your messages and prompts, including anything you paste in.
  • Files you attach. Text files are read in your browser and the text is sent with your message; images are sent as image data. Attachments are not kept in separate file storage. They travel with the message and are stored as part of the saved chat.
  • Image prompts and the images generated or edited from them.

What the models send back

  • Answers, comparisons and generated files, saved to your Library so you can come back to them.
  • Chat memory. When memory is on, past turns are converted into numeric embeddings so later messages can recall them by meaning, including across conversations. Memory is on by default and can be switched off, and wiped, in Settings.

Usage and billing

  • Which models you use and how often, credit balances, plan, and counts of free chats and image edits, so limits and billing are applied correctly.
  • Payment records. Payments are handled by Stripe. We keep your plan, credits, Stripe customer and subscription references and invoice status. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Redemption codes you apply, and when.

Devices

  • A random device identifier set in a long-lived cookie, your browser user-agent string (shown to you as something like “Chrome on macOS”) and the time each device was last seen. This is how we enforce the per-plan device limit and let you sign out a device from Settings. We do not use it to track you across other websites.

Teams

  • Team name, membership, invitations (the email address invited and who sent it) and the team’s pooled spend.

Support and administration

  • Emails you send to support, and our replies.
  • An administrative audit log. When one of our operators takes an action on an account (grants credits, suspends it, signs in to help with a support request) that action is recorded with the operator’s identity, the account affected and the time.

We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural analytics on the site. The only usage figures we look at are the ones generated by the app itself, described above.

3. How we use it

  • To run the service: sign you in, route your messages to the model you picked, stream the answer back, generate images and store what you made.
  • To remember context across chats when memory is on.
  • To apply plan limits, device limits and credit balances, and to process payments and refunds.
  • To send transactional email: verification, password resets, team invitations. We do not send marketing email.
  • To answer support requests and investigate problems you report.
  • To keep the service safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention, and the audit trail of administrative actions.
  • To understand aggregate usage, for example which models are popular, so we can keep the catalogue useful.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the contract we have with you to provide the service, our legitimate interest in running it securely and improving it, and your consent for anything optional such as chat memory.

We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we do not sell personal information.

4. AI model providers

AskAnyModel does not run the models itself. To answer a message we send your prompt, the relevant conversation context, any attachments and the memory that was recalled to the infrastructure provider that hosts the model you chose. We work with several such providers, and which one serves a given request depends on the model and on which provider is available at that moment. The same is true of image generation and of the embedding model used for chat memory.

Each provider processes your content under its own terms and privacy policy, and some pass it on in turn to the company that built the underlying model. Treat anything you type as leaving our systems. Please do not paste passwords, payment details, health records or other sensitive information into a chat.

Your account identity is not sent with your prompts. Providers receive the content of the request, not your name or email address. If you need to know which provider handled a particular request, for example to make a data request of your own, email support@askanymodel.xyz and we will tell you.

5. Other service providers

We use a small number of companies to run the service. Each only receives what it needs for its job:

  • Vercel hosts the application and database, and stores the images you generate.
  • Stripe processes payments and holds your card details. We receive confirmation of payment and a customer reference.
  • Resend delivers our transactional email.
  • GitHub, if you choose to sign in with it.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of our users or ourselves, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

6. Teams and sharing

Nothing you generate is visible to anyone else by default. If you are on a team you can choose to share an individual chat or image to the team library, where other members can see it. You can unshare it at any time. A team owner can see the team’s members and its pooled credit spend, but not the content of members’ private chats.

7. Cookies

We set only the cookies the app needs to function:

  • Session cookie, which keeps you signed in.
  • Device cookie, the random identifier described above, which lasts about a year.
  • Preference cookies, such as your light or dark theme choice.

There are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. Because none of our cookies are optional, we do not show a cookie banner. Blocking cookies in your browser will prevent you from signing in.

8. Retention and deletion

  • Chats and images stay in your Library until you delete them. The Library keeps a capped number of recent chats; older ones roll off automatically.
  • Chat memory is kept until you clear it or turn memory off in Settings, which deletes it outright.
  • Devices drop out of your device list after a period of inactivity, or immediately when you sign one out.
  • Verification and reset tokens are deleted when used or expired.
  • Your account. You can delete your account yourself from Settings. Your profile, chats, images, memory, devices, usage records and team membership are deleted with it, and an active Pro subscription is canceled. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and the administrative audit log keeps one entry recording that the account was deleted, and when, so that the history remains complete.

9. Your choices and rights

From Settings you can:

  • Turn chat memory off and clear what has been remembered.
  • See the devices signed in to your account and sign any of them out.
  • Delete chats and images from your Library, and unshare anything shared with your team.
  • Download any answer or generated file as Word, PDF, Markdown or plain text.
  • Delete your account, which removes everything listed in the previous section.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email support@askanymodel.xyz from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

10. Security

All traffic to and from AskAnyModel is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production data is limited to the operators who need it, and every administrative action is logged. Admin access is granted by configuration rather than by anything stored in the user database, so a compromised account cannot promote itself. No system is perfectly secure, and if we learn of a breach that affects your information we will tell you without undue delay.

11. Children

AskAnyModel is not directed at children and you must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live, if higher) to create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers

Our hosting and the providers listed above operate servers in several countries, including the United States. When your information moves across borders we rely on the providers’ contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, where the law requires them.

13. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page. If a change materially reduces your rights or expands what we collect, we will tell signed-in members in the app before it takes effect.

14. Contact

Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to support@askanymodel.xyz. A person reads that mailbox.
